Erik Banks is a senior risk advisor at the European universal bank UniCredit. A clear, comprehensive introduction to finance

This book answered my need for a readable, comprehensive, but compact guide to finance. It covers all the key concepts from balance sheets (US and UK) and financial ratios to investment banking and bonds, with an overview of economic concepts and global markets, all in compact paperback you could comfortably read on the train. There's no humor, and the subject can be a complex one, but the author does a good job of explaining the concepts briefly and clearly, and builds upon the ideas in earlier chapters in a logical manner. Clear examples and neat chapter summaries help you cement your knowledge as you progress through the book. Recommended.
